Our vision is a society where all people are valued equally whatever their personal circumstances and have a safe place to call home.
Our Mission is to work with vulnerable people so that they gain access to housing, health, and other services in order to achieve dignity, make their own effective choices, and express themselves as fully independent members of society.
Our Aims
To work together as equals with those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to enable them to take control of their lives, obtain a suitable home, and maintain their tenancy.
To ensure early intervention to enable clients to access the help they need.
To work in partnership with other organisations and the people of Barnet.
To be financially stable.
To make a pivitol contribution to Barnet's homelessness and rough sleeping strategies.
To speak with a distinctive voice on issues of homelessness.

Our Origin
The Day Centre developed from the work of Ballards Lane Methodist Church, Finchley Reform Synagogue and the forum Barnet Action on Single Homelessness.The Day Centre Opened in 1997
HAB's Profile
Our aim is to help a variety of clients whose circumstances might include any of the following:

Rough sleepers
-
Those in insecure accommodation, where the tenancy is under threat

Those in temporary accommodation
-
Those in permanent accommodation but in need of support to maintain their tenancy
To all its clients HAB offers a place to rest as well as meals, showers, laundry, clean clothes, resettlement support, medical, social and psychiatric services, drug and alcohol support, counselling, group work, holiday and other activities.
Although HAB receives funding from the London Borough of Barnet, Barnet primary Care Trust and the Association of London Government we also rely on funds we raise by events and donations. To make a donation to our work click on the give now link above.
